A New Start

Hello there.

I would first like to start by acknowleging its been over three years since I last posted on here. I apologise.

So much has been happening, both good and bad, and its had me distracted and unable to commit to this. However, I feel like my life is in a great, peaceful space again to resuscitate it. I promise to explain more about what’s been going on further down the track, but as I’ve told people in person recently, I feel like, for the first time in my life, I finally have all my ducks in a row. It’s a wonderful feeling.

I originally began this blog as a bit of a hobby to practise writing, as its something I’ve always wanted to pursue on a professional level (my goal is to one day be a published fiction author and yes I’ve had a story idea for nine years now, which really needs to be drawn out of my brain soon), but I’ve never been overly confident about actually doing it. By rebooting this, I can start practising and building that confidence again. I also wanted to see if I had anything worth saying that people might find remotely interesting and, to be honest, it’s been a helpful form of self therapy, I’m not going to lie.

Until now, the theme of the blog has been non-fiction short stories based on my travel and dating adventures. I still have plenty of these stories up my sleeve, which I’m happy to still share, but I’m not sure if I want the blog to continue to be solely about them. Both of these aspects of my life have quietened down significantly over the last couple of years (a pandemic certaintly hasn’t helped things) and I feel like I’ve grown as a person and (hopefully) a writer, and now have a bit more to potentially offer. I hope to explore and share more deeper personal stories, general issues in society that play on my mind and, of course, maybe even some fiction.

So this is a little post to say hello, I’m back and watch this space.

Thank you to all the people who’ve continously encouraged me to do this, even though it terrifies me, putting a little bit of my soul on public display.

Kind regards,

Suzy
